The course is in English It will give you the opportunity to see Trieste with new eyes: familiar places will appear different thanks to the help of lecturer Erin McKinney, who has been working in Trieste for 10 years and has dedicated her time to capturing the essence of the city. The lecturer will share with you her secrets for capturing innovative perspectives, with an original and uncommon gaze, inspired by American cuts, infusing the photographic walk with a touch of American culture. We will visit various locations, allowing everyone to explore and photograph according to their own style and interest, but changing angle of vision to capture the new language, see the lights, get very catchy images. … and make you feel on holiday ️

How it works

Sunday 10 November 9 a.m. – Theory – Introduction to Street Photography (1 hr) Meet Erin McKinney at Stage21 (Androna Campo Marzio 9c) who will talk about her career. Afterwards, we will discuss the fundamentals of street photography, exploring techniques, styles and approaches to capturing authentic moments in urban life.

Practice – Photographic Walk (2 h) We will dive into the city of Trieste with a stimulating photographic walk, exploring hidden corners and iconic places, allowing each person to express their own unique style and personal interest.

Practice – Image Editing and Presentation (1 h) After the photo session, we will meet at Stage21 (Androna Campo Marzio 9c) to select and edit the images taken. Together with the lecturer, we will select one image from each participant who will have the opportunity to present their photo to the group. This moment will be dedicated to sharing experiences, suggestions and constructive feedback.

Erin McKinney – Lecturer in Street Photography

American photographer and creative currently living in Italy. Specialising in documentary, lifestyle, music and street photography, she is fascinated by human behaviour and the way people live their daily lives. After completing her art studies at The FotoFactory in Amsterdam in 2012, she started working for various clients and publications around the world, also participating in numerous exhibitions. He has personally assisted Alex Webb, Rebecca Norris Webb and Susan Meiselas (Magnum Photo Agency) in leading various photography workshops. Read some interesting facts about the teacher
